Key

It’s time for Senator Collins to answer: Are you supporting President Trump’s re-election?

As the days tick away for Republicans to challenge Senator Susan Collins in a primary, Maine Democrats are rolling out a countdown clock to monitor if she’s willing to publicly state her support of Trump. Here’s what we already know:

  • Senator Collins voted with Donald Trump 94% of the time, according to CQ.
  • She has been a key vote for Donald Trump on everything from the tax plan that gave corporations and the wealthy trillions in tax breaks to the confirmation of Brett Kavanagh and every one of his judicial nominees in 2017 and 2018.
  • Collins joined with Mitch McConnell to acquit Trump in the impeachment trial, after voting 12 times against including witnesses and evidence.
  • Donald Trump has said he’s 100% behind Senator Collins’ reelection. Staffers for the president’s reelection campaign “worked to get her on the ballot” by collecting signatures door-to-door and at Trump events.

Yet in typical Collins fashion, when asked whether she’s supporting Donald Trump’s re-election she refuses to publicly give an answer.

Senator Collins, Mainers deserve to know: Will you vote to re-elect Donald Trump?

Susan Collins Confirmed Brett Kavanaugh

Collins cast the critical vote to confirm Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court.

By voting to confirm Kavanaugh, Collins ignored the credible testimonies of multiple women who accused him of sexual assault. She abandoned her own promises to protect Roe v Wade and reproductive rights.

Collins supports Trump and McConnell’s takeover of the Federal Judiciary.

Susan Collins didn’t just vote to confirm Brett Kavanaugh. She backed Mitch McConnell’s unprecedented move to block Merrick Garland’s Supreme Court confirmation, and put Neil Gorsuch in that seat. She has also confirmed over 100 of Trump’s extreme judicial nominees, many with well-documented anti-choice views. Her decisions will irreversibly affect reproductive health rights across the country.

Now, it’s up to us to hold Susan Collins accountable.
